ROMAN8LX “Roman 8 lexfile”. SIZE: 850 bytes. Note: after CHARSET ROMAN8$, LEN(CHARSET$) = 768 bytes. Adds one command to HP-71 BASIC: ROMAN8$, which returns a 768-byte string containing the CHARSET bitmap of the Roman 8 Extension character set. CHARSET ROMAN8$ remaps the HP-71 display to look like the Roman 8 Extension character set, sometimes called the International character set. For example, CHR$(191) will no longer look like a “?“ in the HP-71 display, but like a “t”, which is how the ThinkJet prints it. If only a few of the Roman 8 characters are desired, you can CHARSET or GDISP any substring of ROMAN8$. *** ROMAN8LX *** (31898) File Header (318F3) Poll Handler (3192C) 52/2A ROMAN8$ fn (31F60) Next File Header
